To become a successful chef an individual will need to have "the ability to work well with others, and the culinary passion", according to Rowan Riley.  It is also equally important to be an organize and dependable worker.  Another factor is to be clean, and look clean. "Forborne illness is commonly spread by poor hygiene, especially the failure to wash hands.  As a chef the appearance of uncleanliness can and will reflect a reflect a regard for good practices." Another great tip for success is to be by lingual; learning to speak Spanish is a good idea.  Extra effort is also needed; putting in long hours and more responsibility will take the individual a long way.  The individual can volunteer to help out with administrative tasks like food ordering, and staffing to help come more valuable (Riley 2-9).  To become successful he or she will need to be able to work under constant pressure such as standing, and burns, heavy lifting, noise, and heat (Krumov).   To be a successful chef the individual must have the top 10.  The top 10 is considered creativity, passion, business sense, attention to detail, a team player, practice, multitask, commitment to quality, quick decisions, and handle criticism. "Being business minded he or she understands the nature of the food preparation and service industry and knows his or her role in the business process. Creativity is when a chef is very creative and can develop new menu items, new recipes, and new ways of presenting meals to keep things fresh and innovative in the restaurant. The individual  use the finest, freshest ingredients, safe preparation methods, and creative presentation techniques to ensure each and every meal meets the establishment's standards for quality. As a great chef he or she is able to think quickly and can make good decisions when problems arise. Problem solving must be done quickly to keep customers satisfied and operations flowing smoothly" ("Top 10 qualities of a great culinary professional").
