What training will you need to be a chef?

__________________________________________________________________________________

As a personal chef there are certain training requirements that the individual will need to complete to consider his or her self a chef.  As an individual a strong work ethic  that is coupled with a lot of on the job experience is required.  As a beginning chef individual began as a short-order cook or prep workers.  According to Riley Rowan " if he or she demonstrates leadership skills and an eagerness to learn new cooking techniques to learn new cooking techniques, he or she might move up fast in the culinary world." As a personal chef the job requires little training, and as an individual he or she must be able to see first hand how things should be run. Most of the courses begin with kitchen sanitation and go on to teach the basic training in preparing food, such as slicing and dicing methods for meats and vegetables. As well as basic cooking methods like baking, broiling and grilling.  Also to help become a professional chef, cook a much as possible for friends, family, and coworkers to help develop a cooking style that an individual will like. There are three other types of training that is needed to become a chef.  The three things are considered to be a high school/college, an apprenticeship program, and certification (Riley 2-9).  It takes many of years of training, the individual needs a love and passion for food and cooking. Apprentiship usually takes up to three years and internship takes up to one year. These are two things that an individual must complete as an requirnment because most employers in the field today will not accept less than hands-on training when it comes to hiring people who prepare the food for which their establishments are known. It is highly recomended for you to take a formal education route (Londrie).
